Hello All,
My company had filed an individual petition for me and my interview for the visa at Mumbai consulate went extremely well. Here's how the day progressed -
Interview time:9.30am (i reached 20mins before interview time)
Passed through security check, went inside, was given a token number, green envelope with all the documents submitted before interview and i handed over my passport. Next it was finger printing time.
Sat down for 5mins before my number was called out (sometimes its hard to hear what they say so must pay attention)
Here's how the interview went:
I went in and said Hi, Good morning :)
VO: Can I please have your token number.
Me: Sure
VO: Just give me a couple mins to pull out your information
Me: No problem
VO: This is not a blanket petition?
Me: No. It's an individual petition :)
VO: Thats great coz it reduces my work :)
Me: I guess you get a lot of blanket petitions!!
VO: Oh yeah. A Lot :)
Me: (just smiled back for that)
VO: So whats your designation?
Me: Senior Analyst
VO: What kind of analysis do you do?
Me: Financial analysis
VO: Where are you working?
Me: xyz bank
VO: How long have you been working at xyz bank?
Me: 3 years
VO: (with a smile) i am happy to approve your visa.
Thats it. The interview lasted only for 2 mins. It seems like individual petition and just the fact that I work at a very big global bank helped for my interview. But the case may differ from person to person. From start to end, I was done in 40mins!
To all those who are reading posts here so they can prepare for their L1 interview, one and only one mantra - Be confident and enjoy the whole process instead of worrying about it.

Oh P.S: Do not carry a big umbrella. They don't allow it inside. I had to convince a police officer (called him "mama":) to keep mine till the interview is over. Believe me there is absoultely no arrangement to keep any personal items. So to save yourself time and to have a hassle free experience, just carry your papers in a neat white folder (no zips), pen and a wallet with only money (no cards, keys etc etc) Coins are ok to carry.

L1 Blanket Visa & L2 Approved-07-July-10

Its my turn to post and share my experience after reading all members experiences prior to my L1 Visa Interview.First, I would like to say BIG THANKS to all the users who are sharing their experience(Both positive and Negative) and the IMMIHELP team for their contribution .
I had a scheduled interview at 11:15 on 07-July-10 at US Chennai Consulate.We were there at consulate at 10:45 AM and went inside at 11:00 AM.
Later we spent 20 minutes to finish all admin process(Verification,arranaging docs,DD collection..etc)since there is no rush in consulate.
After finishing ,we went to stand in the queue and after a minute,VO called us as next applicant.(My Self,My Wife & My Little Daughter(3.6 Yrs))

My Daughter:She started playing with her mother and trying to get her mother attention towards her side since my wife was looking at VO Side.

My Daughter:She is pulling my ID Card
VO:She has seen my passort pages..i have travelled ealier to US,UK ,Netherlands and switzeland ..so all visa stampings
VO:Can i see your marriage certifcate
ME:I have given
VO:She started signing and stamping on I-129 form and said ,Sir your visa is approved and you will get passport with in week.
VO:Bye Dear and take care

Finally L1 Visa is Through
Hi Everyone. First of all I convey my thanks to this site. It was really helpful.
Actually it was raining in Chennai I was asked to go in formal dress, without cell phone, and bike keys. I just parked my bike in parson complex and handed over my cell phone keys and bag to my father outside. Poor man he was waiting outside for me.
My Appointment is at 12 PM and I reached there at 11:55. There was no one waiting in the Queue. The Security person told just he needs the passport and invitation letter. So I gave those he put some seal and give it back to me. Then I entered to the consulate. Security check they asked do I have any phone pen drive with me I said no. then he allowed me to go inside. Then I entered the Pre screening booth. One lady verified my documents and taken the DD Slip. Then she asked me to go the next building. There I paid the fees and gone inside one more hall.
One person asked me about the appointment time I said 12 PM then he asked me to wait. I advice that drink plenty of water and sit relax, take a deep breath It will really help.
After 15 minutes he asked me stand in the queue. I was waiting for my turn. Then my turn I said good afternoon madam then she replied. The QA session is given below.
Question: who is your employer
Answer: YYYY
Question: How long you are with ZZZ
Answer: 4 year and 11 months.
Question: So 5 years you are with this Company
Answer: Yes Madam
Question: Who is your client
Answer: ABC
Question: So you are a XX oficer

Answer: Well, I am the senior most Person in this Project and also I have completed similar projects in the previous assignments successfully. So My Company selected me to work in US.
Don’t say anything about technology or tools. Just use simple English and convey what your company is going to do for the client and how are you going to help on this project. This will help.

My L-1B (Blanket) got approved at Delhi. I would like to thank Owner of this site as well as the people who have posted their experience. It helped me a lot as I went through all the pages right through the end. I consider it my duty to post my experience on this wonderful site.
Here is how it went.......
My Interview was Scheduled for 08:30 Hrs. I reached there by 8:00 and was immediately asked to move in. Inside the hall a guy arranged my documents and gave me back a lot documents which were not required. I was given a Token. In the first Counter they took HDFC Bank slip of 7,200. In the second counter they took 24,000 Bank Cheque. In the third they took my Finger Prints and finally my turn for Interview came. I consider myself extremely lucky that I was asked only general questions.
Me: Hello Madam, Good Morning!!
VO: Good Morning, Your documents please.
VO: Which Company you work in?
Me: abc
VO: What is you experience with this company?
Me: X Years Y Month
VO: Who is your Client?
Me: xyz
VO: Where does your client work?
Me: aaa
VO: What is your designation?
Me: bbb
then she started typing some thing in the computer and Stamped my I129S and signed it. Finally came the golden words.....
VO: Your Visa is approved sir. Your stamped passport will be couriered to you in 5 Working days
She gave me 2 sets of I797 and I129s.
Me: Thank You Madam. Have a nice day!!!
Points to be Noted:

1)Photograph is not required if it has been already uploaded while filling the Online form.
2)Bags, Keys are allowed inside the Delhi Consulate
3)Mobile Phones, Cameras, Pagers etc. are strictly prohibited
Tips:
-----
1) The interviewer hardly has any time to look at you. He/She will be busy typing in her System. So don't get nervous or panic.
2) The smarter you are the easier it becomes. So dress your self professionally. Plain Light Shirt, Dark Pant, Tie, Polished Black shoes, Hair cut, Clean shaved, Nicely combed hair will do a lot of favour to you.
3) Prepare a list of Questions from this forum, write their answers and mug it up. I mugged it by heart. It will help if you get nervous
4) Read all the pages of this site atleast once.
5) If you are poor in English, not able to get them, then ask in Hindi. Most of the VOs are fluent even in Hindi. Believe me, these Americans in Delhi Consulate were speking Hindi Fluently (Much better than our Prime Minister)
6) Read the Petition atleast once so that there is no contradiction.

Sorry . My US L1 Blanket Visa has been rejected.
Please let me know, do I need to do anything from my side?

Thanks for this site which made me to prepare more and more. And finally my VISA got approved.
My interview was scheduled at 10:15am.I reached U.S consulate at 9:20am.Stood in the queue.Realised something i forgotten, it was my company badge and again i went back my hotel where i stayed and got my company Id and stood in the queue and realxed. reaching early helped me not get tensed.Because i wanted to keep myself in fresh mood.After waiting in long queue, i was allowed to move forward and got the entrance of U.S consulate. And first they checked Interview appointment letter and security check,verification of covers which you are carrying and again security check. and allowed me sit for a while inside. Later they started calling 10:15am interview guys.And i stood right hand side queue of the entrance. reached counter no 2: there arranged all my documents which ever required and returned other documents which are not required and i kept my in polythene.and he asked me to keep let hand four fingers and later right hand four fingers and two thumbs togther. and went to next queue, there they collected the D.D(24,000)(please write ur name and passport number behind of D.D without forget). Then later one lady told me to go left hand side of the queue. and i seated for while.(counter no 6) before who are all attended before me none of them got rejected.(i think around 5 guys).Later my term came. I was decided be cool and not take any tension.

L1B Blanket approved in Chennai
My appointment was at 9:30 AM, and I reached at around 9AM..
Was waiting for about 20 minutes and then I was called for security check. After the checking, I was allowed into the first building for document verification.. As I was waiting in the queue, one of the staff asked us to move to the next building, as document verification was taking place.
I was waiting in another queue there for sometime, and after document verification, I was again asked to go to the first building, and pay the fee in draft, as I had the latest full fee..
When I came back, the staff in the second building asked me to join the queue in Counter 7. The person in the counter was neither a lady, nor a bald guy. He was a nice looking gentleman.
He was interviewing a girl from some company, and after a lotta questions to her, he went to consult with the guy in the next counter.. I was happy when he came back and approved her Visa.
Next was an elderly couple, and to my total surprise.. he interviewed them in Tamil.. Finally he said.. "Naan ungalukku oru Visa tharen, Passporttum, visavum, oru vaarathula courierla veetukku varum".. Simply superb..
Next another guy in front of me, was from another company.. He too got approved after a lotta time, and the standard questions...
Next was me..
I was a bit nervous, when I stood, but gotta a bit of confidence going as he had approved all the three applicant before me, and outta the 3, 2 where BEP candinates.
ME: Good Morning
VO: Good Morning and how are you.
ME: Am Fine and you!
VO: Please keep your right forefinger on the button!
Me: <Kept>
VO: Few Seconds.. OK

At this point he asked some clarifications from my answer, and further questioned me based on my answers, including who my client was...

After this he went away to consult with the guy in the next counter.. (He did this for everyone before me too)

ME: I am the seniormost.. blah.. blah.. blah..

Was waiting for about 20 minutes and then I was called for security check. After the checking, I was allowed into the first building for document verification.. As I was waiting in the queue, one of the staff asked us to move to the next building, as document verification was taking place.
I was waiting in another queue there for sometime, and after document verification, I was again asked to go to the first building, and pay the fee in draft, as I had the latest full fee..
When I came back, the staff in the second building asked me to join the queue in Counter 7. The person in the counter was neither a lady, nor a bald guy. He was a nice looking gentleman.
He was interviewing a girl from some company, and after a lotta questions to her, he went to consult with the guy in the next counter.. I was happy when he came back and approved her Visa.
Next was an elderly couple, and to my total surprise.. he interviewed them in Tamil.. Finally he said.. "Naan ungalukku oru Visa tharen, Passporttum, visavum, oru vaarathula courierla veetukku varum".. Simply superb..
Next another guy in front of me, was from another company.. He too got approved after a lotta time, and the standard questions...
Next was me..
I was a bit nervous, when I stood, but gotta a bit of confidence going as he had approved all the three applicant before me, and outta the 3, 2 where BEP candinates.
ME: Good Morning
VO: Good Morning and how are you.
ME: Am Fine and you!
VO: Please keep your right forefinger on the button!
Me: <Kept>
VO: Few Seconds.. OK
VO: So what are you going to do in the US?
Me: Explained
At this point he asked some clarifications from my answer, and further questioned me based on my answers, including who my client was...
VO: How long have you worked for ZZZ?
Me: 3Yrs 1mnth
VO: Why are you being paid only YYYY here
Me: Its the pay for person with my experience.
VO: How much will you be paid in the US
Me: $$$$
After this he went away to consult with the guy in the next counter.. (He did this for everyone before me too)
He came back
VO: Why are you sent and not any other person
ME: I am the seniormost.. blah.. blah.. blah..

Thanks for this site which made me prepare more(and may be get tensed more :-))and finally to come out in flying colours. Here is my experience
I reached consulate by 8:30.Waited in the long queue for sometime and when it became 8:45 i was allowed to move forward and got into consulate.Security check, Document verification etc took about 45 mins for me since it was heavily crowded there.
Finally i got counter no:2 where our notorious fat lady was sitting. My mind trembled when i saw her but relaxed when i saw her smiling and talking nicely to a family went ahead of me.Actually thier kid made her so pleasant and i thanked god for letting that kid be there.Next my turn and i here are the questions.. It was all the default ones.
1.How much years of experience
2.Which client
3.What are you doing for your client at India
4.what you will be doing at US
I was waiting for more questions from her and suddenly she started writing something in the papers. Finally i heard what i longed to hear for about 6months Your VISA is approved and you will get passport in 2-3 days
