rejected under 214b
hi guys,i am 24 years old hyderabadi,i completed my btech two years back, currently i'm currently into films as an assistant director since 2016 july,.i had H4 visa two times previously when i was below 21 years once in 2011 and again in 2014,i visited US three times before for shorter periods 4 weeks, another time for 6 weeks,i never violated any overstay also.my father is a H1b holder, his income is around 140k per annum,i carried his H1 status, his visa, his employment letter and other documents like invitation letter from my father, another letter from my film production house, but still rejected.
she asked me why you want to travel to us ?
i said i got leisure brake for few weeks,so i want to visit to my fathers place, spend the vacation for weeks
she asked where do your father lives ?
i said he lives in san diego,CA
she asked what's your income ?
i said i didn't receive any remuneration till now,i'm currently an apprentice working as an asst.director
the she asked did u receive h4 visa previously ?
i said yes,once in 2011 and again in 2014.
she asked how many days you want to visit us ?
i said for 4 to 6 weeks( as i mentioned 6 weeks in my ds160)
then she typed for 45 sec, and said but unfortunately you are disqualified under US law,
she gave me the 214b paper along with my passport !!!

i dont know what went wrong,i think my age is probably the problematic ground for them .
i travelled us before, had strong financial support from my father, never overstayed,i mean my history is clean, i didnt even select B1/B2 bcoz,B1 refers business related, mine was purely B2 which is just a visitor one, feeling low,i don't know why it happens to genuine visitors, they approve the people who really want to stay there, but reject genuine ones like me
it costed me 12000 rs,including travelling to consulate and my time,my hopes.seems like luck matters a lot,the officer seems cool but i dont know what she thought of me and rejected.
can one any say the exact core reason for this refusal,i'm bit disturbed.

B2 visa rejected for 214(b)
Hi,
I had my B2 visitors visa interview few days back.

My husband works in an Oil company and his job is in ship. I live in India with my 2 sons. I wanted to go meet my brother and visit US for 1 month.I had applied visa for me and my two sons. I am a house wife. I do not have any significant property in my name in India. My elder sons is in class VII. My visa got rejected for not having enough ties to India. I am not sure about the reason and I had told them that my son has to join back school. I am planning to reapply just for me and my younger son now. Is it a good idea? Did they think that my husband is working in Navy (because he works in a ship for an Oil company) even though he is not. Can anyone help or guide?

Thanks!

Visitor Visa for Mom
Hello Everyone,

i would like to explain my situation.

I recently schedule interview for my mom from india(hyd) for a visit to US for 3-4 weeks along with my younger brother. My aunt( her sister) is a US citizen and we also had her documents( W2, sponsor letter, and invitation letter) attached with the documents during the interview . But the visa was rejected for them and from what we could make out the reason was lack of showing ties back in india though they said husband( my dad) and our house is all present in india and she shall return in 3-4 weeks. the only thing we didnt show was the bank statement and financial documents.

Now i want to apply again only for my mom this time. i recently got engaged here and soon to get married . in the previous DS form we didnt mention that i was in US since my aunt was sponsoring her. Now i am working here on OPT .

what are my options for the documents? Should i again attach financial documents and schedule her interview for visiting her sister (OR) shall i mention she wants to visit for her son's marriage ?? will they ask her why dd she mentioned about her son in the previous interview?

Any feedback and directions are much appreciated. look forward for answers

Denied 4 times then Approved
Hello Everyone, this is my B1/B2 Visitor Visa interview experience at the US Embassy in Trinidad & Tobago. My interview was in November, 2017 but now got the time to post this. This forum helped me alot in preparing for the interview, Thanks to everyone that posted there experience.

I am a single male 27 yrs old, Supervisor at a company.

2011 -at 21 years old while going to School I applied for a visitor visa and got denied 214b.
2013 -I reapplied, this time I had a job and 2 years work experience, I was denied 214b again.

July 2016- 26 Years old- New Job- 3 years experience at a Company as a Supervisor I applied again, working for a fairly good salary, Travel History to Canada (Canada gave me 10 Years Multiple Entry Visa in 2016) . I was denied 214b again.

September 2016- I decided to reapply again because I really wanted to go on vacation with my family. I got denied again 214b.

After 4 Denials and missed family vacations/weddings in the US it was very depressing because I didn't understand why I was denied so many times for no reason that I knew of.

November 2017- I decided to try for the Visa again as my cousins was going to New York for vacation and I really wanted to go spend time with my cousins that live in New York for Christmas.

I was VERY Nervous although I prepared for over a week in front my mirror doing interviews with myself. This is how the interview went.

VO: with a smile-Good Morning, How are you? (She was the same officer that denied me in 2016)
Me: I'm fine thank you and yourself?
VO: I'm great thank you. Lets start by taking your finger prints which she instructed me on how to.
Me: ok.
VO: What’s the purpose of your trip?
Me: To go on vacation with my cousins.
VO: At this point she saw on her system that she denied me in 2016 and said We have spoken before, I can't do the interview but have a seat and I will have another officer call you to do the interview.

While sitting and waiting I was even more nervous now as I really didn't know what to expect, I was just praying for it to be over regardless of the outcome. 10 mins later my name was called.

(Male Visa Officer this time)

VO:Good Morning
Me: Good Morning.
VO: I see you was denied recently (2016) what have changed from then till now?
Me: I am working longer at my job and have more savings in my account.
VO: Whats the purpose of your trip?
Me: Vacation with my cousins.
VO: Where do work and your salary?
Me: I responded.
VO: Let me see your bank statement, then asked Do you have family living in the US?
Me: Yes my cousins.
VO: Okay how did they become citizens?
Me: I responded.
VO: What date do you plan to visit and for how long?
Me: I responded. (only 1 week I applied for)
VO: Typing for about 30 seconds.
Me: Standing firm infront the interview window and just looking at him because I wanted to be confident as possible although I was cold sweating just waiting for him to respond. It felt like 1 hour lol. Then the golden words came.
VO: Your Visa has been approved, you would get it in 5-10 business days via DHL Courier and gave me a small white paper with courier collection instructions. Have fun on your trip.
Me: Thank you

I couldn't believe it, I didn't know if to cry or laugh because I got denied 4 times in the past. I am still overjoyed.

The courier delivered my passport 8 days after my interview and to my surprise I got 10 years Multiple Entry B1/B2 Visa. I went to New York for Christmas on vacation and had lots of fun. My advice- be confident, calm and honest during the interview. Answer briefly and only what you are asked. There's still hope, don't give up. BEST OF LUCK to everyone.

Rejected Twice
Hello,

My partner has been to the embassy twice for interviews. The first time we went we were unprepared and that did not even matter much as they rejected her before she even had an opportunity to say anything.

The last time we went the officer was extremely kind, asked her many questions and said she regretfully had to decline her at this point with a 214b, but encouraged her to apply again in the future.

My sister is getting married on May 19th, 2018. We are being included as part of the bridal party (hopefully if we can obtain this visa).

The first time we went my partner had no travel history or employment record. That was September of 2017. Shortly after she secured work in a guesthouse (not great money and I know it is not the type of job they are looking for but none-the-less it is a job). We have since visited Hong Kong and Vietnam on Holidays. Obviously they gave her more of a look over the second time with the new employment and travel history. We want to apply again, actually I have already paid the fee to attempt a third time. What can we do to make her case as strong as possible.

Someone suggested we obtain a Schengen visa for the summer as that would be after the date of our trip back to the states. They said that having a trip planned and visa already obtained would make her a better candidate and make the officer more likely to believe that she will indeed return to her home country if we have already put forth the money for a separate trip after the date of our intended trip to America. Does this sound like a good idea or just a waste of money?

We have some time in March where we were intending to visit friends in Cambodia, however, if we go to a more western country like Australia (any suggestions?) would that make our chances higher?

Please let me know if anyone has had any experience with these options and how they worked or if you have any stories of cases where you were able to strengthen an application.

I am an American born passport holder, I have been living abroad for 3 years now in the same country while maintaining the same work. She already has all of my work information and letters from my company and boss stating that I will be returning to my job after our trip.

I had applied for my parents visa and this was second time it was rejected.

1st attempt: My parents were asked what business they do, and they anwered electronics business and wanted to visit my son for graduation ceromony. we had all financial documents strong, however, visa got rejected.

2nd attempt: My parents were asked purpose of visit, this time it was on h1(my current status) and were asked how many children and then what business you do, they anwered bidi business. Then the consular office asked why there is a difference- earlier it was electronics and now its Bidi business- they rejected.
