No Objection Letter for Schengen Visa Application

No Objection Letter for Schengen Visa Application

Among Schengen visa application requirements, if you are employed somewhere or if you are a student, you should get a no objection letter for Schengen visa purpose. It is also called no objection certificate or NOC.

Such letter gives some assurance to the consular officer that the employee or the student has strong obligations to return to his/her home country to either resume the job or study.

While such a letter may be optional for the consulates of some countries, it may be mandatory in others. Therefore, it is the best to submit it in all cases anyway.

Many employees or students may want to ask their employer or school about sanctioning the leave after they get the visa. In such cases, getting the no objection letter would be difficult. Therefore, it is the best to tell them in advance about your plans.

No Objection Letter for Employees

The employee’s supervisor or their Human Resources (HR) department will provide the letter. It should be written on their letterhead and signed. If they have already approved your leave, they should not have a problem providing such a letter.

Re: No Objection Letter for Mr. Ganesh Murthy for Schengen Trip

Dear Sir or Madam,

Mr. Ganesh Murthy has been working at Goldstar IT Services Ltd in Mumbai, India since January 29, 2014, as a Software Engineer, and his current salary is Rs. 35,00,000 per year.

Our company and I, as his supervisor, have no objection to Mr. Ganesh Murthy getting the Schengen visa so that he can visit the Schengen countries. We have already approved his leave from July 15, 2019, to August 7, 2019. We are confident that he would be able to pay for his trip expenses himself through his salary income. We have enclosed the proof of Mr. Murthy’s salary herewith.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact me at any time.

No Objection Letter for Students

A no objection letter for students who are applying for Schengen visa should be written by the responsible person at the school, such as the department head, registrar, college dean, or principal. It should be written on a school letterhead and attest the fact the student is enrolled at the university and is expected to return to complete the degree.  In case the student is funded by the scholarship, appropriate details should be mentioned.
